Claire & Sandy - Pre-wedding shoot

This afternoon we were in Edinburgh city centre for a pre-shoot with Claire & Sandy, whose wedding we are photographing in Northumberland this May.

Thanks to Sandy's military connections, we were able to explore some great locations in the heart of the Old Town. And it was fantastic to be photographing this lovely couple in the same spot where Sandy proposed to Claire.

Claire & Sandy are so easy to work with and we think you'll agree that they will make a stunning bride and groom!

Here are a few favourites from today...

Focus 2009

We have returned from the Birmingham 'Focus on Imaging' exhibition with a bag full of brochures, a few new purchases, and lots of ideas!

This vast photography trade show is packed full of exhibitors displaying the latest equipment, software, albums, frames, training, etc. etc. If it's photography-related, then chances are it's there.

The show was a great opportunity to meet with suppliers and to find out more about new products on the market. It was wonderful to be reminded just how enthusiastic the top suppliers are about their products - we really are very fortunate to work in an industry that people feel so passionately about. We also found some stunning frames and will be adding these to our range very soon.

And while this was all fantastic, our very favourite part of Focus was the social aspect. As wedding photographers have such packed diaries, it's not often that we are all able to get together and catch up. It was really lovely to see old friends and to hear how well they are doing.

Our next get-together is likely to be at the awards ceremony held by the Scottish region of the Master Photographers Association next month. This annual event is due to take place in North Queensferry on March 29th and we are looking forward to it greatly.

Following the actual awards ceremony, celebrations tend to continue until the early hours. It's well known within the industry that MPA photographers are fantastic dancers, and we look forward to seeing what shapes will be thrown around the dancefloor this year!

Birmingham-bound

We're heading down to Birmingham tomorrow morning to attend Focus on Imaging, a huge trade show for photographers.

At the show we will be attending seminars, catching up with friends in the industry and checking out the latest products on the market. We will be checking our email as often as possible, but please bear with us if it takes a little longer to hear back from us than usual.

We will be back in Edinburgh on Wednesday evening and have some exciting shoots lined up in the week ahead!

Caroline & Dennis - Pre-wedding shoot

Today we met up with Caroline & Dennis, whose wedding we are photographing this June, for a pre-shoot in Edinburgh's Old Town.

Caroline and Dennis are based in Brighton and met a year ago today, so the timing for the shoot couldn't have been better. They got engaged last August and are planning a beautiful wedding in Aberdeenshire.

It's always a pleasure to photograph people in love and Caroline & Dennis are so sweet together. They also share a fantastic sense of humour so there was lots of laughter as we made our way around town.

Caroline & Dennis, we had so much fun photographing you and can't wait for the big day! Here are some of our favourite shots from today.

Dennis was keen on some action shots...

Yerbury 'Ultimate Boudoir' seminar - Prestonfield

On Monday I had the pleasure of spending the day with Trevor and Faye Yerbury, learning some tricks and tips on boudoir photography. Just like my last day spent with them, I've come away bursting at the seams with ideas and inspiration. Here are a few favourites from the day!
