We have returned from the Birmingham 'Focus on Imaging' exhibition with a bag full of brochures, a few new purchases, and lots of ideas!
This vast photography trade show is packed full of exhibitors displaying the latest equipment, software, albums, frames, training, etc. etc. If it's photography-related, then chances are it's there.
The show was a great opportunity to meet with suppliers and to find out more about new products on the market. It was wonderful to be reminded just how enthusiastic the top suppliers are about their products - we really are very fortunate to work in an industry that people feel so passionately about. We also found some stunning frames and will be adding these to our range very soon.
And while this was all fantastic, our very favourite part of Focus was the social aspect. As wedding photographers have such packed diaries, it's not often that we are all able to get together and catch up. It was really lovely to see old friends and to hear how well they are doing.
Our next get-together is likely to be at the awards ceremony held by the Scottish region of the Master Photographers Association next month. This annual event is due to take place in North Queensferry on March 29th and we are looking forward to it greatly.
Following the actual awards ceremony, celebrations tend to continue until the early hours. It's well known within the industry that MPA photographers are fantastic dancers, and we look forward to seeing what shapes will be thrown around the dancefloor this year!
