Claire & Andy, Fingask Castle - Perthshire wedding photography

Yesterday we had the honour and pleasure of photographing the wedding of two very good friends of ours, Claire & Andy. It is hard not to have a good time when in their company and, with Claire's background in marketing and events and Andy's talent as a graphic designer and artist, we knew we were in for a beautiful day. As another guest commented, Claire & Andy can always be relied upon to put on a great show.

The day began at Claire's family home in Broughty Ferry where the final preparations were taking place. Claire looked radiant (even while still in her dressing gown!) and the excitement and emotion were building as she, her mum and her beautiful bridesmaids enjoyed the first champagne toast of the day.

Having left Jay with the girls, I headed down to Fingask Castle in time for the arrival of the boys. In the rain, the castle and grounds looked even more ethereal than usual and the pavilion was wonderfully decorated in a Christmas theme. Andy looked incredibly handsome - and not too nervous - as he welcomed guests who had travelled from all over the world to celebrate this very special occasion.

Claire looked stunning in her Jenny Packham dress and there was hardly a dry eye in the house as she was accompanied down the aisle by her mum, Anne. A lovely service followed before the happy couple were pronounced husband and wife and were piped across to the castle, where the champagne was waiting.

After allowing Claire & Andy some time to mingle with their guests, we whisked them away for a quick photo shoot. This is always one of our favourite parts of the wedding day, and it was fantastic to work with two people whom we know and love so well. We had a great time exploring the castle together and creating some beautiful images.

After some quick group shots it was time to head back down to the pavilion, where Claire's sister, Ali opened the speeches with a hilarious, and incredibly touching, tribute to the bride and groom. A fantastic meal followed before Claire & Andy cut their wintry wedding cake, treated their guests to an excellent fireworks display and then opened the dancing to Andy Williams' 'Sunny' - the perfect choice.

Our favourite ceilidh band, the wonderful Sporran Again, provided the music for the rest of the evening and the bride and groom, and their guests enthusiastically embraced the dancing. As Auld Lang Syne brought the night to an end, Claire & Andy took to the dance floor for one last time before heading off into the night and on to their next adventure together.

Claire & Andy, we always knew that photographing your wedding would be incredible, but yesterday surpassed all of our expectations. We hope you have a fantastic honeymoon and can't wait to show you your photos when you get back.

Cara & Nye, Fingask Castle, Perthshire

Today we had the pleasure of photographing Cara & Nye's wedding at Fingask Castle in Perthshire. With amazing views, beautiful grounds and a quirky interior, Fingask was the perfect setting for what turned out to be a truly magical day.
As wedding photographers, Cara & Nye knew exactly how they wanted their day to be, and put a great deal of time, effort and soul into creating the perfect day for their loved ones.
Cara looked striking and drew gasps of approval from the guests when they turned and saw her at the end of the aisle. Throughout the beautiful ceremony, filled with readings and song from friends and family, she and Nye could hardly keep their eyes from one another.
After drinks in the gardens, the barbecues were cranked up and Cara & Nye's friends and family helped create a wonderful meal. The guests dined as the sound of blues music floated over the hills, before returning to the castle to continue the celebrations with some very special cupcakes and homemade champagne.
Cara & Nye, thank you for inviting us to play a part in what was a truly wonderful day. We think you are a beautiful and talented couple and wish you all the happiness in the world.
